A lot of stuff has happened lately. The biggest change is that I have moved out into my first apartment. I'm paying for myself now, and to be honest, it kind of sucks. At least I'm sure that when I come home, there's food in the cupboards that I will eat.

The main hassle though is that we haven't had the internet for a week. I moved in last Friday, and I had it all set up to do the install that Saturday. Unfortunately, the difference in signal between the box and the apartment meant that they had to get someone out there to service it, and the only time they could reschedule the appointment when I was home was for today. I went and bought a new laptop last night, since mine is really starting to crap out, and by working some magic to boost the wireless card signal, I was able to connect to an unsecured network until ours is set up. Should be in another couple of hours.

By the gods it's been a tough week. My roommate and I don't know how to do anything without the internet. We need to find out where the post office is here so we can get the key for our mailbox, but we don't know how to look up the address or how to get there once we know it (we don't have a phone book, before anyone asks). For entertainment, we've been reduced to playing Monopoly on his ps3 just about every night.

Anyway, everything should be better soon. And once I get some decent bandwidth and get around to copying my files from my old computer, I'll be posting my top 10 list of things to do when the internet is down, so hopefully my pain will be of some use to anyone else stuck in my plight. Just be sure to archive it somewhere.
